Training begins...

I started my training for the two JDRF Ride for the Cure rides this year. For my first ride of the year, I went 21 miles. Overall, I was happy with the ride, although I came home to a sick baby - not fun. If you are doing any of the JDRF rides, I hope your training is started as well. Please keep us posted....

RECRUITING...

I have started my recruiting efforts for the 2009 JDRF Rides. I plan to ride in Sonoma, CA and Killington, VT. I've emailed friends on Facebook and I've got one recruit already - my usual suspect - Matt Martin. More to follow, but I'm hoping for a big turn-out for Team FightForOne...

Hills, Hills, and more Hills.

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the support, phone calls, emails, text messages and most importantly, your financial donations for my JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes last weekend.

I traveled to North Carolina on Friday, August 8 with my great friend, and fellow rider, Matt Martin. We loaded up our bikes Friday morning and made the 7 hour drive, arriving mid day in Asheville. Friday’s activities included registration, dinner with the group, and a few beers for good luck. Dinner was a speci… Continue

Thanks again Joel. My problem was that I could not control my sugar cravings, or for that matter anything that I would eat. I have knowledge of nutritional products, but never really applied them to my own life.

This is the denial part that, I would even allow myself to get in this position.

I have family members & friends that have diabetes.....even knowing the effects it had on them, I was still terribley out of control.

There is no doubt on my part that I was headed to an early grave.

Then a friend got me on a call of Dr. Ann DeWees Allen. She heads the national glycemic institute in Washington D.C. Has for 25 years from what I understand.

She is number uno in her field, and also the inventer of the glycemic scale from what I understand.

She has over 100 patents, and is being honored by the UN for her breakthrough in the area of Sickle Cell Anemia, and her attempt to get her research into 3rd world countries.

Her website is : www.skinnycoffeescience.com . Her partner a MD(can't spell her name), website is : www.skinny science.com. She is a heavyweight also in her field.

Anyway, Dr. DeWees Allen, formulated this patented thermogenic fat burning coffee that increased my energy, motivated me to begin to walk again(4 miles daily now), and helped me to regulate my hunger patterns. This was truly a God send for me.

The regional vice president for our area with Boresha Coffee Holdings, is a man by the name of Joe Juliano.

He is in the Mooresville/ Indianapolis area. I know he speaks with the companies CEO Georgre Narfaar weekly, and Mr. Narfaar speaks with Dr. DeWees Allen sometimes daily.

Can't promise anything, but maybe Joe can ask a question on your behalf regarding your son.

God Bless.

Thanks Joel, I've been in denial for such a long time over my condition. As a result I have not given my type 2 diabetes the respect that it deserves.

With-in the last three weeks my whole mindset regarding my condition has changed. Yes, I have diabetes, but I realize diabetes dose'nt have to have me.

God Bless.
